Course Content:

  • Characteristics, skills, and styles of media writing.
  • Styles of media writing.
  • Principles, practice, and formats for writing for the various media (print, broadcast, and social media).
  • Communicating effectively, and using the right language in media writing.
  • Media writing, script writing, and creative writing.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • share in-depth knowledge of the characteristics, skills and styles associated with media writing;
  • have the confidence to develop their own writing styles for the media;
  • analyze the principles, practice and formats involved in writing for the media (print, broadcast and social media);
  • consistently display effective communication and the right language when writing for the media; and,
  • have an in-depth knowledge of the dynamics involved in media writing, script writing and creative writing.
